Mathematics Unfolds Through Ambiguity

Math develops through ambiguity. Through parallel concepts, through equations. For example, the determinant of a matrix is the product of its eigenvalues. This is because it is the last term of the characteristic equation Det(A-lambda I)=0. Through such equations, and the ambiguity they manage, math unfolds.

Variables are the source of ambiguity because they relate two levels of the foursome. Collect examples of variables and ambiguity in the mathematical concepts.
